The Clavelle Plan: ACT 60 For Health Care
School administrators and state politicians insist that local control is alive and well in the state. Nothing could be further from the truth. Thanks to the efforts of Cheryl Rivers and Peter Shumlin our state government controls nearly all aspects of local education and the bureaucracy continues to expand. Now our attention turns to the issue of health care. Very few choices exist in the state today and Peter Clavelle would like to make things easier by eliminating choice all together.

The Governor's Health Care Initiatives
As you know, all of the Governor's major health care initiatives passed with broad bipartisan support except for his insurance proposals. These necessary reforms were obstructed largely by those Democrats who favor expanding government-run, taxpayer funded systems over stabilizing and revitalizing the insurance market and providing every Vermonter with affordable health insurance. There is no quick-fix government gimmick to solve this problem. It will take the kind of steady and real reforms that Governor Douglas has proposed. Read the summary here.
