Vermont's Finances Strong & Steady

Governor Douglas has steadily guided Vermont through challenging fiscal
times, advancing two balanced and compassionate budgets, and ensuring that
spending does not exceed revenues. While other states slashed programs for
the vulnerable, the environment, public protection, economic development and
higher education, the Douglas Administration has Vermont increasing its
commitment in these areas. At the same time, we've fully replenished the
state's rainy day fund.
